Ford India sales have increased yet again and it stood at 6,356 units at the end of March 2014. The sales have grown by 21 percent. Ford India has also exported 5,449 vehicles in the month of March and its EcoSport Compact SUV is the most awarded vehicle ever in the Indian automotive segment.
Ford has sold 11,805 units in March 2014 compared to 7,499 units last year. This is an increase of 57% compared to the same period last year. The domestic sales for the American company in India stood at 6,356 units up from its figure of 5,271 units in the same month last year. Ford has also managed to export 5,449 units in March 2014, up from 2,228 units in 2013.
“Cautious is how we should define the first quarter of 2014. The excise duty reduction has definitely been a positive step. As India gets set to vote, we look forward to such industry-friendly initiatives being sustained to support the important automotive sector,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India.
EcoSport has greatly contributed to Ford India’s sales as it has won several awards in India and globally for its EcoBoost and SYNC technologies in addition to its value for money factor. It is a versatile product with great capabilities and features an excellent combination of contemporary design and engineering.
EcoSport also overtook Figo’s previously held record for being India’s most-awarded car in the 2012 edition of the Limca Book of Records.
